Scimedico Renovates HVAC at Augusta, Maine VA Medical Center

Headquartered in West Orange, New Jersey, Scimedico LLC provides support to clinical laboratory facilities throughout the United States with a wide array of services and solutions. In April 2019, Scimedico LLC worked with the VA Medical Center in August, ME, to completely revamp the facility’s HVAC system.

The Augusta VA had installed new laboratory equipment in recent years that necessitated the complete overhaul of the facility’s heating, air conditioning, and ventilation systems. Before beginning the renovation project, Scimedico conducted a comprehensive analysis of the existing HVAC infrastructure joining the laboratory to the mechanical room that houses the bulk of the center’s heating and cooling equipment.

In addition to utilizing its own staff, the company contracted with local engineering and mechanical experts to craft a custom solution for the VA. In his comments, CEO Miguel Bermeo said it was an “honor” to be able to meet the center’s needs given its important mission of providing vital medical care to America’s veterans.
