A humanitarian organization that provides disaster relief, disaster preparedness education, emergency assistance, and blood donation services, the Red Cross relies on volunteers and donations to be able to help others in times of need. The American Red Cross New Jersey Region serves the entire state of New Jersey with offices in six locations: Princeton, Fairfield, Summit, Ocean, Pennsauken, and Pleasantville. In 2017 the New Jersey Region responded to 823 disasters in the locality, helping 1,894 displaced families.
Red Cross New Jersey Region also provided more than 113,000 individuals with life-saving skills training in first aid, CPR, aquatics, and AED use. It also provided case services to 4,181 military families with counseling, referrals, and emergency messages, among others. These services were all made possible through the help of more than 5,300 volunteers.
